Since 2008, in Kyrgyzstan, a project training mountain guides standard UIAGM-FMGA with funding from the Swiss company Mammoet and the support of the International Union of Associations of Mountain Guides (UIAGM-FMGA), the Swiss Mountain Guides Association and the Association of British Mountain Guides.

In 2008, the introductory tests were conducted for participants in mountain climbing and mountain skiing. In October 2008, hosted the first preparatory seminar lasting 14 days in mountaineering, and in March 2009, a 14-day preparatory workshop on mountain skiing. In the summer season of 2009 participants of the school to work as guides in the mountain regions of Kyrgyzstan. 15-28 October 2009 held a second seminar on the Ak-Sai glacier on mountaineering with the delivery of tests, and in the spring of 2010 a second seminar on mountain skiing. At the fall seminar will be an observer presence of UIAGM-FMGA. The school was formally established in mid-2009 as a structural unit of the Association of Mountain Guides in Kyrgyzstan and was accredited by the State Agency for Vocational Education in Kyrgyzstan.

Project preparation is not limited to the first intake, and planned to continue and therefore the school conducts a second set of the group for the preparation of mountain guides in the next intake 2010-2013. 13-14 October 2009 at the Ak-Sai glacier in Ala-Archa will be a test on mountaineering (rock, ice, working in tandem, etc.) for the candidates of the second set.
